Textual Analysis 5- Kerrang! All Time Low

In this Kerrang issue, the main headline showcase is the band "All Time Low", who is modelled behind their headline and logo in the cover. The structure of the cover involve a lot of overlapping and layering. An example of this would be that the main singer, Alex Gaskarth, has his head covering most of the title. This could be related to the the tagline given above the headline, where it states "Total Mayhem"  and the cover clearly represent that statement. This could be a connotation of the fact that the band itself is a tiny bit wild and crazy, since the magazine has decided to make them big and use the image going everywhere. (One arm has been used to overlap the headline, the other has not.). There is also a large banner and cover story in the top of the cover and the bottom right of the cover respectively in bright yellow. This contrasts with the plain, calm main colour theme palette and makes them stand out from the white. The colour yellow could also be a connotation of the word "Puke" in the tagline, although the idea of them being related I think is very unlikely due to the fact that the content of the cover story and banner are unrelated. There is a lot of bold writing, showing us again attitude and aggression. There has been a use of typography in the "Rock and Roll Excess", which looks aged and withered. Making the title on about the history of "Rock and Roll" look like it's literal meaning, making this an iconic symbol.
